Hubby and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary today! WOW..... can't believe how fast 10 yrs went by. I'm so blessed to be married to such a wonderful man. He believes in me always. Always encouraging me. Such a great father to my children. I'm so blessed.

Gdiaper Review

Hey all, we have been in Gdiapers now for a week. Let me just say that I LOVE this diapering system. I'm loving cloth overall.... I just wish I had done this from the start. But better late than never... My daughter is 9 months old and wears the medium gdiaper. I ordered the 6 pack.

Well what we have been doing is using cloth prefolds inside of the gdiapers and stuffing them inside the elastic lining. I fold the gerber prefold in thirds. This works very well. We have not had ANY leaks! Not one! And she has worn them over night. I did order some microfiber inserts that we are in the process of trying over the next few days. these should be more absorbent than the prefolds. I did have a bit of a challenging time with the poopy diaper. That we need to still get used to.

I bought little trash can with lid to use as my diaper pail. It's been working.

In a few days I will post a review on the Dreameze and the Grobaby. I already love the Grobaby! I wish I had more of these too! More on that later....

Taking the Plunge... Cloth Diapering

I know my baby is 9 months old... why did I wait so long to consider cloth diapering... I always wanted to do it with my son and now with my daughter i dragged my feet again. Well Gdiapers had a great deal so I got a bunch and I thought it can't hurt to try it out... plus i can sell these later if they don't work out. I'm going to do cloth inserts with the gdiapers.

ALSO... I hate having to spend $100 and up at Sam's for diapers for TWO!!! And I love the amount of trash we will cut down on! You should see (or feel the weight of) our diaper pail after a day or so...

Of course... most people are automatically so negative about going cloth. "oh it's gonna be so much work" "you are gonna have to wash all the time" "they are sooo bulky"... and "it's gross and yucky".... yadda yadda...

Soooo... I am gonna review these these diapers after I get the chance to try them out on my kiddos. I am going to be trying the Gdiapers, GroBaby, and Dream-Eze.

Oh how I love this! Definitely a Must Have Baby Item!

The Boon Squirt Baby Food Dispenser. This awesome gadget allows you to feed your baby on the go with out having to lug a spoon, bowl, and baby food. It puts it all in one! You just put baby food in the container part of the spoon and the spoon end has a cap, so that it doesn't spill in your diaper bag. It's great cause it works! You just give it a little squeeze when you are ready for more food. We have used this on outings a few times now and it's a must have on the go. I've done mashed potatoes and squash in it. I will be making this my staple gift for new moms.

I just wish I knew they had it in pink before I bought the orange... maybe I'll get another as a back up. Good excuse to get the pink one too. LOL

Tonight I was brave and went to the grocery store with the kiddos by myself. Junior loved driving "the car"! He had a ball! It was a quick trip to get a few necessities. But I couldn't resisit snapping a few pics of the two of them.

I'm still here. Just haven't had the time to blog. I need to make time to journal about all the craziness that goes on around here. But we are having fun. The kids are growing so fast! Where is the pause button????? Seriously. Look at this picture of the kids. They look so big!

My little girl is 7 Months! She got her ears pierced last month. She's crawling backwards. Eating great. She loves the song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Head Shoulders Knees and Toes".

My son, is talking up a storm. Learning his colors. Has fallen in love with all things transportation, trucks, trains, cars... He loves anything from the "Cars" Movie. He loves going "side" or outside. Loves the bubble machine. He calls it "Bubble Sheen". He loves his sister and hugs and kisses her. He's a great big brother. He just doesn't want to share his toys!

What's Good?

Hello world, My life still continues to be as crazy as all get out! We are making it one day at a time. I'm really trying to cherish these days with my little ones. Cause my princess is growing up sooooo very fast! Not to mention Junior. He is just a little weed. We have been spending recent days enjoying the nice weather. Taking trips to the playground, bouncing and climbing play spots, and family dinners. I'm getting the hang of leaving the house with the both of them better. Like today I had the both in the car and ready to leave in about 30 mins! That is with diaper bag packed, bottle made, sippy cup ready, hair done (hers), shoes on, etc... I have yet to get it to a science but it's coming. I am also secretly trying to play my son down so he sleeps better at night.

Junior has offically hit the "TERRIBLE TWOS!" I used to think it was not real, just an excuse for bad kids. I disagree. We are still a few weeks out for his 2nd bday, but boy this child has all of a sudden become some one else's child! He's not terrible, he just has his moments during the day. He really tries me. I'm have to keep my cool with him. But after he does something or behaves badly he will turn around and do something so cute and sweet. He's my sweetheart... but i am already looking forward to the "TERRIFIC THREES"!

Our Princess has been progressing right along. She loves to sit up in her BebePod Chair and play with her toys and links. She enjoys watching big brother run around and play. She smiles and laughs at him when he screams and hollers. She is not on a schedule, she does go to bed at the same time each night. BUt I am going to do my best this week to try and get one established for during th day.

I'm not posting to my blog as often as I would like these days. It seems I never have the time anymore to do anything!! I read blogs where I see women who are SAHMs and/or Working Moms and they scrap and do this and that... I don't see how I could ever scrapbook these days! I spend my whole day trying to stay caught up.... with the kids, housework, dishes, laundry, the dog. I squeeze in time for a few DVRed shows, playing on Facebook, and that's about it. When I get them both down for nap time, I need a nap myself! I wish I knew how to get my own creative time squeezed in some where... I am greatful that my hubby gives me a real day off every week. But I usually spend that day playing catch up or away from the house. It's hard for me to close myself up in a room and scrapbook when my hubby and kids are home too... sooooo how do you find the time?

Anyway... here are a few pics of my two. I can't believe my little boy is going to be 2 next month!!! And my little princess is 4 months old next week! WOW... time files... I guess we must be having fun. ;-)

My inaugural day...

I think everyone can attest to today being a great day! I was so blessed to be able to spend the day watching inaugural coverage with my family, hubby, son, and daughter at home. I would have loved to have been in DC, but I had great seats at home. Our tv was constantly on CNN, TV One, and MSNBC.

His speech was so inspirational! I loved how he touched on the nation together. And getting up and going to work. All support for religions and faiths. No president has ever done that. And how he wants to work with other nations. But if they don't wanna work us, don't even try and mess with us. I think we are in store for great things in the next eight years, yes I say eight. Because the way the country is rallying behind him there is no doubt he will be back for another term.

One other thing... it think is pure amazing how the country is receiving him. So many people turned out for the inauguration! I was just in pure awe looking at the numbers of people on the mall to witness this. So many black, whites, hispanics, asians... people traveled for miles. Over all the mood of the people was so happy, even in 19 deg temps. I would have loved to have been there if I was single and could just hit the road.

We cooked out and enjoyed some good food as we watched the parades and first dance.

Overall I'm proud of America. Proud of how far we have come as a nation. Anxious to see where we are going. I feel like we are finally moving forward as a country and nation. That maybe people will start to see that we are all equal and worthy.

Mostly anyone with a toddler knows about Yo Gabba Gabba these days. It's a really trippy show. It makes me think about something from the 70s. But kids love it. My son says, "Gabba", soooo cute. Best thing about it is that it teach good manners and social skills. Hubby got him this cute T at walmart. He loved it! And wanted to wear it immediately.

Look at my little girl! She is getting big soooo fast. I can't believe how fast it's happening this time around. Slow down please little girl....

She's also quite a chunker! She's in 3 to 6 month clothes finally. She seems to have picked up weight in the last 3 or 4 weeks.

This week she has started "talking". She really loves to have you look right at her and just talk to her. She just lights up and smiles and tries to respond by cooing. Just the cutest thing!

Princess is two months old already! Can't believe it. Well yes I can. I know time went soooo fast with my son. I have been trying to prepare myself for how fast it gonna go with her too. Weirdly enough it seems to be going even faster!!! AGGGHHH!!!

Anyway, at two months she is:

trying to hold her head up on her own
smiles and makes cooing sounds (especially at daddy)
loves to be swaddled at night time and nap time
loves watching her big brother
enjoys her swing for swinging and napping
sleeps very well, almost 6 hours some nights
has a reputation for being a bit of a Diva, but we don't mind one bit

My son's very first "action figure" type of toy. A little plastic Diego and friends. I showed him the box and the first thing he says is "Go-Go". That's what he calls Diego. How cute is that? He was so excited about his little toys. He hasn't put them down for about 4 hours straight. He even took his nap with "Go-Go".

Needless to say I am sure "Go-Go" will be joining him for dinner and in the bathtub tonight too. Priceless!

Okay so today I have to go in for my post partum check up. And I have to take BOTH kids with me... I have already packed the car... packed my diaper bag... got toys for the big kid to keep him occupied... got snacks packed... having two makes having one seem so much easier.

Having two like this requires planning ahead. But I am sure I will forget something. I just hope my doctor isn't late or behind today. Not trying to be in the waiting room with these two for an undetermined time. Let me stop complaining, it's not really gonna be that bad.

I am ready to get the clear from my doc to start working out. The weight in the tummy area is a little more stubborn this time around! I am thinking of incorporating a morning walk into my already crazy routine... yeah right. I have big dreams... maybe I can do it.

Boy it's been a minute since I posted! I have had "my hands full".

Our little girl, "Princess" was born in October. What a blessing to have a healthy beautiful baby girl! Our lives have been wrapped in her and Junior lately. Caring for the two of them has proven to be a constant job. But its getting better. She is sleeping more and more at night these days. She's a great baby. Sweet and cuddly. She loves to cuddle and be close. Her big bro on the other hand is into so much these days, always on the go. It's so much fun to watch the two of them together. Needless to say I feel blessed beyond belief. I sometimes can't believe how lucky I am, to have two healthy beautiful children.

A few people commented on my Wordless Wednesday post. I honestly didn't think anybody still read my blog. But to the 5 people out there still interested... I plan to start blogging more now that my life is getting back to some normalcy.

Any other two under two parents out there? Care to offer any tips to a new mother of two? Am I bound to the house for ever? (A simple trip to the store took me about 30 mins to get everyone out of the car and into the stroller....!!!)

I have been so blessed to receive so many nice gifts for this baby. The postal guy has rang my door twice this week already! I got some great gifts things we really needed. I was just mentioning to my hubby that we didn't have any socks or bibs yet! Friends and family blessed with just what we needed! And right on-time too!

We got bib, socks (in a cute egg carton), wash cloths, picture frames, cute baby blankets, and toys.

Just a little less than 2 weeks away from being a big brother! Junior is all smiles here... but little does he know that his whole world (and mine) is about to change very soon. I have tried to "prepare" him as much as you can do for a 17 month old. So hopefully he will love his little sitter from the start and not have any jealousy issues.

I have been having a rough day today. I want to "nest" so bad but feel I can't get everything I want to do done. I know my baby won't come to her new home inspecting the cleaniness or neatness of things. And she won't mind if everything in her room is not perfect. But I know... I'm just frustrated because I can't get down and do the serious cleaning I want to do and organizing I want to do. Time has just run away from me. The days are going wayyyyy to fast it seems.

Weekend Recap...

Our weekend was pretty interesting. We had our houseguest "IKE" over on Friday. How interesting... The storm was horrible! The wind and rain were so strong. I couldn't sleep for worrying that the windows were gonna blow in and shatter. Junior slept straight thru it all! I just knew he was gonna be up all night, but he slept well. The power went out around 4 am. We had restored power around 9 am the next morning. We were very blessed to get power back so quickly. Other friends of ours are still without power and some without water! They are prediciting the power could be out for some people for 4 weeks! OMG...

I went to Target to buy some bread and a few other staples and boy was there nothing on the shelves! I mean nothing! Amazing. I never seen it like this. And the lines for gas have been outrageous. I thank God we decided to fill up prior to the storm and made sure we had most of our neccesities. Hubby wants to get a generator ASAP. I hate to spend the money on it, but I think it we were without power for very long it would be great to have.

Tonight hubby bbq'ed and we enjoyed being outside. The weather has been great today. Tonight it's supposed to get down to the the 60s! That's major!!!! We have been in the 90's and 100's most of the summer. I am welcoming a little cool weather these days!

Here are a few pics of my sweet pea drinking his milk before heading to bed. I was snapping away as he watched Backyardigans. Thinking he wasn't paying me any attention. While I was snapping away, he looked at me and said "Cheese!" and smiled at me! I lost it! Too funny! I NEVER tell him to say cheese! Where did he get this from??? LOL... Tottaly tripped me out. Too cute!

Trip to Playground and Splashpad

Last night we took Junior to the splashpad and playground in our sub. He had a ball. I don't why we haven't done this before all summer. I guess cause its just now getting cooler enough to go out and do anything. This summer has been a real scorcher! Looking forward to our upcoming cooler weather. I am gonna try to spend as much time outdoors with him as I can before the baby comes. Which is only about 5 weeks away!!! OMG..... OK.... I am trying not to freak out. I still can't imagine what it's gonna be like to have 2 UNDER 2! WOW, I will try not to freak out...

Just put Junior down for his nap. This morning we hung outside for a little while in our camp chairs in the shade.

Lately I have been reflecting on a lot of things in my life. This week is very significant in my life. My birthday, Wedding Anniversary and my hubby's birthday are all within 7 days this month. I can't believe I have been married to my husband for 9 years. 10 years is right around the corner! (Next year Jamaica here we come!) We have gone thru so much in the last 9 years. Well if you ask him he claims its 12 years if you count when we started dating. We have changed so much and grown so much together and individually. Growth is so important in a relationship. He's allowed me to grow and improve myself, by supporting me. And I try and do the same for him. Having a child together has just made the bond even more strong. I love what we have made together.

Finger painting this morning with Junior. We had fun and printed out some of his favorite characters and painted them. We put them on the fridge and he looked so proud of his "works of art"!

We had our 28 week doc appt for Baby Girl. All is going well. Doc says we are on track for our csection date. I can hardly wait! I can't wait to get started on the nursery. We already have all the furniture just need to get the bedding and paint. We are gonna be in a bit of a time crunch but it will be okay. I know we will get it done. It will just be a busy next few weeks!

OMG When did this happen??? My little one is just growning up so freakin fast. He is 16 months old as of this week. Last night was his first night sleeping in his new toddler bed. I can't believe he is getting so independent and big on me. He loves his bed. Now getting to sleep in it is another story. It hasn't been too bad, but he likes to play. Let's just say that I have to sleep on the floor for about 20 mins until he gets to sleep. But I am hoping that will end soon.

Oh, the reason why he moved into a toddler bed... is that we are pregnant again! I'm 6.5 months pregnant. Always reluctant to put these kinds of things out in bloggerland. But I feel a little safe now. We are having a girl!

Here are some pics of a project I did today for my husband for Father's Day. I used a 8x8 Acrylic Album by Scrapworks. I bought it at Archivers. With a few old and new embellishments.... I am such a procrastinator! I started working on this at 11:00 today and he was due home from work at 12:30! Talk about a rush job! Luckily I only had to print a few of the pics. He was very excited to receive this gift. I was so impressed, he took the time too look at each page very closely and read every bit of it. It's nice when people appreciate the things you do.

This morning we fingerpainted for the first time and made Daddy's father's day gift! We also made a card for grandma and papa. Junior had a ball. He mixed his colors well and didn't even try and eat the paint! I couldn't believe it. I just knew some of the paint was going into to his mouth. I can see this will be a fun activity from time to time for him.

Tonight "Mommy" (Me) got the opportunity to run some errands on my own and I left the boys to fend for themselves. My hubby is generally very good with Junior. Tonight was no different. He made him dinner and even took pictures! It's so funny how they do things differently from mommy. (i.e. no bib! lol)Looks like he enjoyed it and enjoyed the 1 on 1 time with his dad!

Ever sine Jr. was 2 weeks old I have been taking a monthly photo of him and his stuffed froggie to show his growth and progress. Well at 14 months, I am a little late taking his 12 month pic. This morning I thought would be a good time to take it.

Well, the little joker, did not want to cooperate with me. He continually pushed Froggie out of the chair and laughed and laughed. He didn't want anything to do with him! So we need to try again, here are a few outakes from our trial pics this morning and also a collage showing all of the pics we have taken since he was 2 weeks old. Such a transition!! I am definitely gonna do this with my next baby. Just gotta pic out another stuffed animal.

The Froggy Pool

Today Junior got in the new baby froggy pool. He had a ball. At first he didn't know what to make of it. But he finally got the picture. "This is like the bathtub, just outside! Cool!" It was fun, but it takes a lot of prep work to get it all ready to go! I know I am a lazy butt. Not to mention the heat!!! It was so hot that we got in at about 7:30 pm! Right before bed so that it wasn't too hot and sunny for him.

But I will make a promise to get him into his pool at least once a week this summer! I think he enjoyed wearing the "Little Swimmers" diapers better than anything. When he put them on he just got so excited and kept looking down at them and pulling at them. If he gets excited about "Little Swimmers" diaper pants maybe he will LOVE pull ups when its time for potty training!!!

Today I finished my son's baby book! He's 14 months old and his book is done! I went to Archiver's for the day and scrapped away the last 3 months. I am so glad it's finished.

I used a calendar format and keep up with all his milestones and events. I love this format because it quick and easy and you get to show soo many pictures! AND I love to go back and flip thru it all the time!!!

I have done all 12 months. But I still wanna add a 2 page layout on his birthday party to the end of the book and maybe a page in the front with his birth story. (So am I really finished??? I am about 90% done...LOL)

It was a little sad as I was finishing it cause it means he's not a baby anymore. We are on to todderhood now. The 1st 12 months goes by soooo fast. It's so cliche to say it, but it's true.

My Son's First Birthday!

My son's 1st Birthday! WOW can't believe how fast it went. The first year... It seems like only yesterday he was just a little tiny thing. Several members of our family gathered to celebrate with us. We had a wonderful time. I think I saw wayyyy to much red and Elmo that weekend! I was so grateful for the love that our family showed us. It was a wonderful day.

My mom and I went to the Barack Obama Rally here in Texas on March 5th. Sorry to just now be posting the pics... I'm a little slow lately.

The event was held at George R. Brown convention center downtown Houston. We had to wait outside in the cold for about an hour to get in. Once we got in we got great seating and got to see Michelle and Barack Obama pretty well when they came on stage. She gave his introduction and he gave a great speech encouraging everyone to get out and vote in Texas the next day. It was awesome. Everyone was pretty hyped up and excited. Lots of energy. I just knew he was going to win Texas (but that didn't happen). But most of all, I was so excited to take my Mom because she has been following the election so closely and was totally thrilled that she got to go.

Scrap Shopping! (All Day...)

My scrapper buddy, Ana, went shopping with me all day long! We hit three of Houston better scrap stores. Novel Approach, Scrapbook Junkie and By Design Scrapbook Boutique. We had a blast. Each store was different and great in different ways. I spent WAYYYY to much money. But I haven't scrap shopped in forever... so it is justified. HA!

Yesterday and last night was so much fun. I got to hang out with some of my favorite girlfriends. And do what I love. We had a great time laughing, talking, drinking... and oh yeah... scrappin' too!

Just sharing some pics from a recent photoshoot. These kids were super cute and fun to work with. The oldest was 10, and the twins were 4. Overall the were good kids, but the little boy, was just that a "little boy". But he did just fine in the end. I really enjoyed taking their pictures and I love how they turned out!

Man am I glad the weekend is here... it's been a really crazy week. Lots of stuff going down at work, end of year things to design, calendars etc. People want to use up every little bit of money they have left in the budget.

Working from home with a 7 month old is really a task I tell. It's been a challenge to me. But it's one I can say I am proud to be able to do every day. I enjoy pushing myself and accomplishing things at work and managing him at the same time. It's a chore. Being a WAHM is a tough job. But I am glad that I have it. I am very thankful to my job for letting me do this.

I am so blessed to have not had to put my son in a daycare at 6 weeks old. He's been with me since birth. We do have a sitter and a home day care lady that keeps him a few times a month. But other than that is just me and the hubby and little Junior. We make it work. There is nothing wrong with daycare, but for us this is working for now. Who knows in another 6 mos where we will be.

But I am totally excited about going home to my Mom's next week for Thanksgiving!!! It will be Junior's 2nd time on a plane! His first trip he was 4 months old. Now being 7 months he's definitely going to be full of energy. So thank good ness for a direct flight! We'll manage... I didn't take pics on the plane on our first trip... i will try to get some on the plane this time.

I want to go out and find him a bib or shirt that say's "Baby's First Thanksgiving!" I know it's corny.. but i still want it!!! LOL...

Today my job had a Family Day Picinic. There was pumpkin painting, pinatas, music and food. We had a great time. It's so nice to have family outings, with my two guys. Junior did great and lasted the whole day without tears. He had a ball!

I know this is totally turning into a baby blog!! Well here are a few pics of Junior from tonight. Being his ususal ham self in front of the camera. This boy is actually learning to pose!! He is used to the camera already. I guess he should be, hence the 2000 pics I probably have probably taken of him so far in his short 6 little months of life.

The baby food making has been good so far. We have tried green peas this week. And he likes them too! My boy is gonna eat his veggies! I hope this continues as he gets older. Not sure what we will try next. I just know he like to eat! This boy can put away some food. I don't think he knows how to tell me he's full. He just keeps taking it in. I hope I'm not over feeding him.

Anyone who knows me know how much I love his toes! My hubby caught me tonight kissing on them again! I just love love love baby feet!! Too cute!!!

Well Friday is almost here and boy has it been a week!! And it has flown by. Looking foward to relaxing and chilling out with my little man. And maybe working on a few crafty things this weekend. Enjoy!

Junior had his first taste of squash today. He loved it!!!

It was so fun to make it for him... I kept worrying if he would like it. I am so glad he did. I am gonna try and make all his meals for him. This is gonna be fun. Not to mention dirty!! I got quite a bit of the squash on my pants!! ;-)

My Son's Baby Book

Just wanted to share what I have been doing for my son's Baby Book. I am doing a two-page layout for each month on doing detailed monthly journal of all the milestones and important thingst that happend that month. I am totally loving this approach to his baby book. I get to feel "caught up"... which is totally wonderful!!!! I scrapped with my girls over the weekend and I am did alway up to August!!!

This weekend was so awesome! My best friend Cathy came back to Houston and I got to spend the day with her! I was so excited. She got to meet Junior for the first time! And she even babysat him for a few hours for me!

The icing on the cake was this beautiful book she made me for my birthday! I TOTALLY LOVED IT!!! I will cherish it forever!!! She's so thoughtful and sweet... I am totally lucky and blessed to have a friend like her. She's so talented in so many ways! I cherish our friendship so much. It doesn't matter where she or I live, we know we'll always be close to each other. Our friendship continues, to stand the test of time.

Just a funny story...

(Please let me know if any of you out there have done this before)

At the end of a long day. Junior is getting ready for bed. We have our night time ritual set pretty well now. Both of us know the deal. There's dinner... a bottle. A bath... A baby massage... and then everyone get a peaceful night of sleep. We on this night. Mommy was so tired that after the last nightly bottle... she put Junior in the bath tub with his socks ON!!! OMG!!! I laughed at myself so hard. And he laughed at me too. Silly mommy.... What's worse is the other night I almost put him in with the pamper on but I caught myself.

Thank God, this weekend I was able to rest and relax with him and hubby all weekend. I didn't have anything to do or anywhere to go. So we just chilled. We took long naps in the bed and just relaxed. It was great!

This weekend coming up is another story. My best friend Cathy is coming back to Texas and we get to spend some time together and she finally gets to meet her nephew Junior!! I am also going to celebrate my birthday on Saturday. I am having a scrapping party that morning and afternoon and dinner out with some my closest girlfriends at PF Changs that night. YEAH!!! So looking foward to it. LOTS of pics to be taken this weekend, especially when I get to see my girl Cathy!!!

Rice Cereal for the first time!

Okay... I know this used to be a scrap blog... but it's slowing turning into a baby blog... LOL... sorry... I promise to do some more pages very soon... :-)

Junior got his first taste of rice cereal with a spoon today! He absolutely loved it. He just acted like he had always been eating from a spoon. He did so good. And boy o boy he enjoyed it!!! It was so much fun watching his expressions as he was eating. It was too cute. Hubby and I had a wonderful time enjoying this little milestone in our son's life!
